The huge plot, which should be build by a complex of building, is located in the neighborhood Poble Nou, Barcelona.

His area has an industrial past. Nowadays we find a big amount of fabrics and industrial buildings that have been recovered into different residencial applications. In this past years there has been a modern movement focused on recreate the attraction of his neighborhood, with lead to the gentrification of it self and the eviction of some social clases.

 

The complex of the buildings proposed create an competence space for the use of residential flats, as well as, public open spaces for all the residents of the neighborhood. On the other side it respects the adjacent buildings and fills the unused plots. Thats how this composition of edifications creates s smooth nexus between the isolated buildings at the front with the high densified neighborhood centre in the back.

The residential flats are accesible though an open runway with provides an exceptional view to the calm interior courtyards. There are three types of flats: of 110, 75 and 50 m2. All of them offer the same system: a principal space with provides the community life with kitchen, dining room and living room and leads to the rest of private rooms. The system recreates a endless route.

The constructive structure of the buildings is based on the combination of wood and brick. The vertical elements use the stacking construction of bricks, in contrast, the horizontal components are made of wood beams that rest on the stacked walls. This combination requires a precise construction, but creates beautiful interior spaces.
